We are surrounded by visual beauty and magic. Mostly we so busy with our daily lives that we either completely miss or barely notice it. It is my goal to try to capture as many of these magical visual moments as I can and share them with as many people as I can.
I have been interested by photography for most of my life. I think it must have started when I was five or six years old when I would spend hours and hours looking through dozens of “National Geographic” magazines that my parents had saved. I was fascinated by all of the images of the wild animals, strange places and exotic people contained within these exciting pages. There was something magical about those images that captivated me.
In 1970 I spent four months at the Glen Fishback School of Photography in Sacramento California. Glen was a wonderful teacher I learned a tremendous amount in that short time. I came to realize, however, was that I did not see a career path in photography that would work for me. Over the years since my interest has waxed and waned. I have always had a good quality 35 mm camera and several lenses that I played around with and dreamed of doing more. It wasn’t until a trip with my family to Costa Rica in December of 2004 that the spark was fully reignited and I decided it was time to really try my hand at doing what I had been dreaming about for all these years.
